Flood Brothers Cart Delivery & Republic Services Cart Removal
January 1, 2020 the Village will be transitioning to the new waste and recycling vendor Flood Brothers. Republic will be picking up waste and recycling carts on Monday, December 30th which is also their last day serving the Village. Flood Brothers will be delivering the new carts over the last two weeks in December and their service will begin Monday, January 6, 2020. Since many residents may be on vacation for the Christmas Holiday or vacationing out of town for the entire winter and not returning for several months, both Flood Brothers and Republic would ask that you handle your cart delivery and pick-up in the following manner.
Flood Brothers new cart deliveries:
First, if residents are just leaving for the Christmas Holiday, they will deliver the carts to the top of your driveway.
Second, and more importantly, if residents are leaving for a several month period, i.e., from December to March or April, they ask those residents to contact the Village, so we can put a list together for Flood Brothers and they will delay delivery of the carts until the residents return from vacation (Vacation Hold). Once they return, residents can contact Flood Brothers directly to have their carts delivered. Please call 630-261-0400.
Republic Services removing the existing carts:
For residents that will be out of town, Republic asks that they call (708) 345-7050 and request a pick up for the last day of their service that they will be in town.
As for the residents who have purchased carts years ago, there is no way for Republic to tell who purchased them and who did not. Flood Brothers will not take refuse in the Republic carts. If some residents insist on keeping them, please pull them off the curb as soon as it is emptied on the last service day or put a note on them stating they want to keep it as it has been paid for.
Additionally, Republic will be doing two robo calls to the residents on these procedures. The first call will be done the beginning of December and the second call will be done one week prior to ending their service.
