Several major improvement projects administered by the Engineering
Department are scheduled for Oak Brook in 2007. The projects were
approved by the President and Board of Trustees as part of the 2007
Budget. The total budget for Capital Improvements is approximately
$5,089,550. Funding comes from various sources including Village
utility taxes, motor fuel taxes, grants and water usage fees
Heres what is planned and the approximate construction dates:
August through September 2008 Water Main Project -
Replace an existing section of water main within the Woodside Estates Subdivision.

September through November - 2008 Drainage Project -
Several areas throughout the Village will be prioritized and accomplished depending upon their cost and availability of funds within the budget.
Salt Creek Greenway Trail
IDOT will contract to construct a pathway under Roosevelt Road/Salt Creek, along the south side of Timber Edge Drive, and within the Oak Brook Park District property at the end of Canterberry Lane. Construction started in December 2007 and should finish in 2008.
In addition,
other agencies are scheduled to accomplish several projects:

Midwest Road (22nd Street Butterfield Road) Widening and Resurfacing.
This County project includes a slight pavement widening and installing a replacement Village water main. One lane in each direction will remain open during construction. Occasional lane closures should be expected.
• I-88 Tollway
This Tollway project includes
widening I-88 between approximately York Road and Route 83.
The 22nd Street viaduct will also be widened so that 22nd Street has 3 lanes in each direction.
