This IDOT project could start in the 2nd half of 2009 and entails reconstructing and widening 22nd Street and Butterfield Road between Route 83 and Trans Am Plaza Drive. If started on time, it could be finished by the end of 2010.
I-88 Tollway
These Tollway projects include widening I-88 between approximately York Road and Route 83 and other areas of I-88. The 22nd Street viaduct will also be widened so that 22nd Street has 3 lanes in each direction. The Tollway is more than halfway completed on three "Rebuild & Widen" projects on I-88, with a 2010 expected completion date. These projects consist of several contracts for different work scopes spread over several miles. While a particular area may not see many workers for a time, the workers are elsewhere. On a whole, the projects are progressing on schedule.
