Work started
on Monday (4/14/08) on the 22nd Street bridge over Salt
Creek. This project entails removing and replacing the
bridge beams and the driving surface. The bridge is not
being widened or shortened; it is simply replacing sub-standard
beams. The work should be complete by about Labor Day,
2008.
During construction, at least 2 westbound lanes will be
open and at least 1 eastbound lane will be open.
This is a separate item from the Tollway I-88 work. That
I-88/22nd Street work will go until the end of 2009.
Midwest
Road (22nd Street – Butterfield Road)
Widening and
Resurfacing. This County project includes a slight pavement widening and
installing a replacement Village water main. One lane
in each direction will remain open during construction.
Occasional lane closures should be expected.
Pavement Patching on
22nd Street
The Illinois Department Of Transportation will begin
pavement patching on 22nd Street from Butterfield
Road to IL Route 83 starting Monday, May 5, 2008.
Lane closures will occur and traffic will be slightly
impacted untill the work is completed, about June
15, 2008.
