TASTE OF OAK BROOK AND SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS
Please join us at the Taste of Oak Brook sponsored by McDonald’s followed by the Independence Day Fireworks display. The Taste event will be held on July 3rd, from 4:00 – 9:00 pm and will feature cuisine from some of the finest restaurants. Participating restaurants include; Adobo Grill, Baja Fresh, Ditka’s, Foxes Sports Bar & Grill, Kona Grill, LaBriola Bakery Café, Maggiano’s Little Italy, McDonald’s Corporation, The Capital Grille and Tuscany. Each of these restaurants will feature specialty cuisine and will surely please everyone’s taste. Harris Bank will sponsor the beverage truck and Sysco Food Services is also a proud sponsor of the Taste event. A children’s tent featuring balloon artists and face painters will be open from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
At a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees, newly elected Village Trustees, Stelio Aktipis, Mark M. Moy and Elaine Zannis were administered the Oaths of Office by Justice Jorgensen of the 2nd Appellate Court at the Bath and Tennis Clubhouse. Their terms of office are for four years.
Village officials announced today an increase of 4% in the volume of recyclable material collected in 2008 compared to 2007. In June 2008, the village implemented a single-stream recycling program. Residents no longer are required to separate paper and non-paper recyclable items for pickup. Instead, all items are now commingled and placed in recycling bins collected weekly by Allied Waste Services.
