Code Enforcement

The Department of Community Development is responsible for the enforcement of the Village's Zoning Ordinance, Building Regulations, and Property Maintenance code. 10-1-1: BUILDING CODES ADOPTED BY REFERENCE: There are hereby adopted by reference the following regulations governing all single-family residential buildings and appurtenances, multi-family residential buildings and appurtenances, and all other buildings and structures hereinafter erected, installed, altered, converted, remodeled or structurally repaired, demolished, moved or their use or occupancy established or changed collectively to be known as the OAK BROOK BUILDING CODE.

First edition, 1998, published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc.

COMPLAINTS: Complaints about a work site or another property can be made by calling the department's main number at 630-368-5101 between 8-4 Monday through Friday, or leave a message and we will return your call. In order to provide the best level of service through the most accurate information, please provide a direct street address.

If you have a complaint before or after normal office hours, during the weekend or over holidays when we are closed and the complaint is an emergency (emergency situation dial 911), a noise disturbance or a contractor using heavy equipment outside the permitted construction hours, call the police department 630-368-8700.

Hours Of Construction: In addition to section 6-1-2 of the Village Code, no person or entity may work on any permit subject to these regulations of this section in any

residential area within the village except between seven o'clock (7:00) A.M. and six o'clock (6:00) P.M. Monday through Friday, and between eight o'clock (8:00) A.M. and five o'clock (5:00) P.M. on Saturdays; and in

commercial areas except between six o'clock (6:00) A.M. and six o'clock (6:00) P.M. Monday through Friday and between six o'clock (6:00) A.M. and six o'clock (6:00) P.M. on Saturdays and Sundays.
