Public Works

The Public Works Department's mission is to provide needed municipal services to the residents of the Village economically, efficiently, and professionally.

These services include, but are not limited to: snow and ice control, pavement maintenance, weed control, mosquito abatement, pavement and parkway restorations, pavement striping, traffic signal and street lighting maintenance and operation, tree pruning, removal and planting, water system operation and maintenance, building maintenance, and the repair and maintenance of Village equipment and vehicles.

The Department, which is comprised of four divisions; Streets, Water, Vehicle Maintenance, and Buildings & Grounds, employees twenty full-time employees and from time to time, supplemented with part-time assistance.

Many of the full-time employees are cross-trained in a variety of the services rendered, providing the Department with great flexibility while at the same time keeping cost down.

Where it is deemed more cost-effective, or the nature of the service requires technical expertise, services are contracted out through competitive bidding.
