Where the Water Comes From

The Village of Oak Brook provides water from Lake Michigan to all Oak Brook residents and commercial businesses, as well as some areas of Villa Park, Elmhurst, and Oak Brook Terrace. The water is purchased from the DuPage Water Commission.

Billing

Residential Customers are billed bimonthly, while Commercial Customers are billed monthly. Bills are due 21 days after the bill date. After 21 days a late charge of 10% of the bill is assessed. Signing up for Automatic Payment will insure the timeliness of your payment and will eliminate any late fees.

You can opt to have your water bill emailed to you by emailing the Village of Oak Brook or calling (630) 368-5090 and providing your Name, Service Address, Water Account Number and Email Address. The bill will look the same as the one you would receive in the mail and you will receive it one to two days earlier than if it had been mailed. Delinquent Notices and Shut Off Letters will still be printed and mailed.

Please see Water Rates and Payment Information for more details. View Village Utility Billing Explanation (PDF).

Seasonal Irrigation Cap Program

In 2012, the Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District revised its policy for metered water for irrigation for Oak Brook residents. The policy restricts the sanitary sewer user charge, which is based on water usage, to a maximum limit during the seasonal period. Applications for residential requests for the irrigation meter cap must be made annually by submitting the appropriate form and fee to the district's office. The seasonal period will be from May 1st through November 30th. Applications must be submitted by June 15.

Please see Seasonal Irrigation Cap Program (PDF) for more details.

Download the Seasonal Irrigation Cap form (PDF) or pick one up at the Village Hall or the library. If you have any questions, please contact the Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District at (630) 323-3299.
